In Vitro Degradation Behavior of Ternary Mg-Zn-Se and Mg-Zn-Cu Alloys as Biomaterials.
In this study, the corrosion behavior of Mg-Zn-Se and Mg-Zn-Cu alloys was investigated to evaluate their corrosion behavior related to use as implantable biomaterials. The corrosion behavior of these alloys and a commercially available Mg-Zn alloy were examined using static solution electrochemical testing, dynamic solution gravimetric testing, ion leaching testing, and microscopic evaluation. ...
متن کاملQuench Rate Effects on the Natural Aging Behavior of 7xxx Al-mg-zn-cu Aluminum Alloys
The effect of quench rate on the natural aging behavior was examined using microhardness, conductivity and the differential scanning calorimeter. The data indicated that GPZ formed during extended natural aging of 7075, while extended aging of 7050 resulted in the precipitation of η’. Introduction The aluminum alloy system Al-Zn-Mg-Cu is the mainstay of aluminum alloys used in the aerospace ind...
متن کاملLow Temperature Resistivity
The temperature dependence of electrical resistivity was measured for three materials: a conductor (copper), a semiconductor (a carbon resistor), and a doped semiconductor (a pn junction). As expected, the resistance of the copper sample decreased with temperature and the resistance of the carbon resistor increased with temperature. The temperature coefficient of resistance of Cu was calculated...
متن کاملModulated Structures, Nanocrystals and Quasicrystals in Mg-Zn-Y Alloys
The formation of the icosahedral phase, BCC (Body centred cubic) phase and nanocrystals are seen in the as-cast alloy with nominal composition of Mg4Zn94Y2. FCC (face centred cubic) phase and modulated structures are formed in the alloys with higher Y content (10% and 25% Y respectively). These phases are analysed keeping in view their relation to the quasicrystals of the Mg-Zn-Y system.
متن کاملCREEP AGE FORMING OF Al-Zn-Mg ALLOYS WITH OPTIMIZATION OF MECHANICALl PROPERTIES
Creep age forming (CAF) is one of the novel methods in aerospace industry that has been used to manufacture components of panels with improved mechanical properties and reduced fabrication cost. CAF is a combined age-hardening and stress-relaxation that are responsible for strengthening and forming, respectively. This paper deals with the experimental investigations of mechanical and springback...
